Brake Pads/Brake friction material are mostly achieved by friction of friction pairs. It is a process changing kinetic energy to heat. The friction material as friction pairs is a safe and reliable guarantee of the brake at first. Brake shoe is the main part of mine hoist brake. WSM-3 Brake Pads/Brake friction material is a patented product of our company, with the patent number of 200510017406.1

The Brake Pads/Brake friction material shoes used in our country are mostly made of asbestos materials, which are characterized by high melting point, large coefficient of friction, good mechanical strength and strong adsorption force to the adhesive. However the asbestos brake shoe has also some shortcomings that are difficult to overcome:

1. Due to poor thermal conductivity of asbestos, friction heat is difficult to disappear quickly, resulting in thickening of the thermal decline layer and increase of wear, as well as pollution to the environment, especially asbestos fiber dust will cause the body canceration;

2. In order to improve the friction coefficient and heat performance, high hardness abrasive and steel wool are used in most cases;

3. Asbestos may have strength decreased after completely dehydration and decomposition at in 650°C -700°C;

4. Asbestos is prone to "heat recession" of friction performance.

The asbestos free brake lining is used in diverse applications:

- disc brakes & shoe brakes for cable railway systems

- winder disc brakes

- calibre brake shoes
